This World Premier performance of Sensemaya is from GMCLA's March 2011 concert 'A Mighty Voice'. Sensemaya is a poem by Cuban poet Nicolas Guillen, which is based on Afro Cuban religious cults. Canadian composer Sid Robinovitch wrote this song incorporating the poem in 2000 to include rhythmic chanting, dissonant and occasionally chaotic harmonies, and spoken verses.
